Baptism

On Sunday, May 18th (thankfully, Mount Saint Helens did not blow up as it did that Sunday morning in 1980) Brenna was baptized! It was fun to have Brenna baptized at St. Ben's, our current parish and where we were married. The whole day was wonderful! Brenna took a nice long nap in the morning and was her happy self all throughout the ceremony. She was very alert, looking around, and smiley! At one point Fr. Mark read a prayer that was something like "you are now part of the Church" and Brenna with a raspberry as she blew bubbles from her drool :) It was hilarious and everyone laughed!

Brenna wore the same baptism gown I wore, and either Becky or Colleen wore :), for our baptisms. We ended up having a private ceremony which was so wonderful. Our friends and family were able to come up to the font and really be part of our celebration.

Becky and Lesli both took great pictures for us. It is so fun to have these great pictures of such a great day!

Overall it was such a special day! I absolutely loved holding Brenna as she received this first sacrament. It meant so much to welcome her into the faith community!

5 months old!

Today Brenna is 5 months old!! She is definitely one happy baby!! Her teachers tell us nearly everyday what a happy baby she is, how she gets along with everyone, and that she cheers her classmates on :) She is finally sleeping a bit better again which we really appreciate. She wakes up between midnight and 1 am to eat and then often eats around 5 am again. Not too bad, although we are looking forward to her getting to 6 months so we can try to get her eating even less during the night. She has been working hard to rolling over from back to front the past few days. Tonight she surprised us by finally making it!! Although, then she was upset she was on her tummy (even though she does know how to roll back over). It was pretty exciting to watch her roll over a few times tonight!

Here is her 5 month picture. I got the best pictures of Brenna once Pat came home since she LOVES it whenever he is around these days! It was super cute!!
